In 2012 beinghuman is staging a series of beinghuman weekends, inviting brilliant curators to host workshops, screenings, talks, performance & happenings in the beinghuman warehouse, Frome, Somerset, the self titled, "Cultural Town Of Britain!"
Grammy nominated musician, film maker, activist & writer Jamie Catto, Producer/Director of the multi-award winning global 1 Giant Leap and founder member of Faithless led a sold out weekend in January, “What About You?”
In February Sam Lee & The Nest Collective, curate “Gypsies and Traveller : Legends, Lore & Enlightenment”.
A weekend of songs, dancing, traditions, folklore, plant lore and explorations of this extraordinary community with some of the finest characters and richest carriers of the old knowledge.
Sam Lee is a folk singer, song collector, teacher, forager and researcher & co-founder of Magpies Nest, the BBC’s Folk Club of the Year 2010. This weekend will be a practical and entertaining exploration into the realm of the unique repertoires of traditional songs, West Country dancing styles, stories, yarns and the rich vein of knowledge held within this ancient and secretive indigenous community.

In March Caroline Carey & Ben Cole’s beinghuman weekend host “1 Giant Leap 4 Dance”
Grammy nominated film maker & cinematographer Ben Cole & dancer, teacher & healer Caroline Carey’s “1 Giant Leap 4 Dance” is a weekend of dance, exploration, movement & connection. In April & May Alison Branagan is running two weekend workshops “designs to help artists & creatives make a living!” Alison currently lectures in entrepreneurship, business & self promotion at Central Saint Martins in London. She is a published author in this field & has been creating workshops in business, enterprise & self promotion for artists for over a decade. She is an associate of the Design Trust and former adviser for Hidden Art and the Association of Illustrators.

Gaynor O’Flynn also creates solo multi media work. Gaynor is an experienced TV producer & director, with over 20 years experience working with the greats of music, art & creativity, experienced in filming globally for most major TV Channels.
She has performed. filmed & exhibited at many major venues & festivals including Hay On Wye, Bath, Frome, Big Chill, Sunrise, WOMAD & Glastonbury Festivals & currently holds a Glastonbury record for 22 stages in one weekend in 2007.
Gaynor currently works as World Music Producer for EMI & is also working on a major multi media project for Tibet.
